Hog Rock
Meet Bruce the Pig, a classroom puppet turned rock star, in a leather jacket, an orange mohawk and yellow sunglasses. He plays a rock stage under a truss of colored spotlights, with a barnyard band behind him: a goat on drums, a sheep on bass, a chicken on keys and a cow on guitar. Answer a question right and three move cards appear, such as strum, drum, slide or jam. The class picks one, Bruce shouts the word in his big Southern drawl and dances it to a Southern-rock song, and everyone copies. Strum brings out a guitar and drum a pair of drumsticks. Each move joins the class’s rock show at the top of the screen. After eight moves Bruce plays it all back, then the class can call an encore at double speed. A wrong answer costs nothing, so the youngest learners can play without worry.
